Part 1:
The last three days on the Cinque Terra were amazing. This was a priority for Sue so we did it the first week. We arrived in Manorola about 2pm after walking straight down the mountain from where we were staying in Volastra. For Sue and I this was the last time we walked this route but for John it was the first of many flights down and up the mountain because we constantly missed the shuttle.
Cinque Terra is a very beautiful piece of Italy and we loved the food the drink and the hikes. One magic moment was meeting Jill Summerhayses on the boardwalk in Monterossa.

Part 2:
Susan, Robert, Linda, and Milla left the Volterra villa around 10 a.m. and headed north to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower (one of the 7 wonders of the world). It is situated in the middle of town on an acre of land called, "The Field of Miracles". There, you will be in wonder viewing the 200 ft. tall leaning marble tower with 8 levels tilted at 85 degrees; beside the tower is the Duomo (big church) with its 20 foot tall bronze doors telling the story of Christ in carvings; the Baptistery is also on the grass beside the church and it looks like a upside down round tea cup made of marble also with John the Baptist standing shotgun on the roof; the fourth building there is a long white marbled mausoleum which housed the bodies. So just in case you were wondering what the meaning of life was, it is being baptisted in the Baptistery, attending church every Sunday in the Duomo, celebrating finding Christ in the tower, and finally waiting your turn to get into heaven in the mausoleum.
We were so overheated with all this that we needed to swim in the Mediterranean Sea so we headed for the National Park near Pisa called San Rossore Migliarino. We had a slight delay at the President's gate but finally made it to the water's edge at Calabrome. We decided not to stay because a cruise ship just pulled in. We heading to the nearest grocery store in Vada with a short walk on Vada's public beach. There we looked for beach glass.
